A resident of Chita, who found a cache with money and precious metals in the forest, can apply for a reward up to 20% of the found. The values ​​were hidden by bandits who robbed Sberbank on May 12.

18 million rubles and ingredients of precious metals found a local resident in a cache next to the highway. The prosecutor's office is now checking the money found. If his involvement in the gang is not proved, then he will be able to apply for 20% of the cost of the find, writes Kommersant newspaper on Tuesday.

Since the end of last week, the outskirts of the cheats have turned into Mecca for treasure hunters: people roam the forest with shovels in the hope of finding stolen values, and then get 25% of the cost of the found.

However, lawyer Vyacheslav Plahotnyuk explained that it is impossible to qualify the found cache with money and precious metals as a treasure: “A treasure is a certain property that no one belongs to anyone and which no one declares its rights. In this case, it is obvious that this is Sberbank’s money. Another question is that the values ​​found can be classified as a find, this is provided for by the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.

In this case, the founder may require a reward from the bank, which can be up to 20% of the value of the property found. The same applies to the previously declared bank award of 5 million rubles for information contributing to the capture of criminals. "

It should be noted that the widow of one of the guards of the bank, who handed over to the police a note left by her husband before robbery, can apply for 5 million rubles. In it, he indicated the names of his accomplices who were going to rob the bank. It was this note that contributed to the quick priority of four criminals.

The robbery of the Chita Building of the Baikal Bank of the Sberbank of the Russian Federation occurred on the night of May 11 to 12, 2007. Three days later, law enforcement agencies reported the disclosure of the crime.

In total, 38 million rubles, 250 grams of gold and 1750 g of silver, disappeared from the bank. In addition, a service weapon was stolen - the PM pistol. Two guards of the bank were killed, one of whom was an accomplice of criminals, but left his wife a note with a plaque scheme that helped to find and arrest the bandits.

According to investigators, a robbery on the bank was carefully prepared by six criminals. Another member of the gang was killed by accomplices after a raid in the forest.

Four detained suspects are the inhabitants of Chita. In the coming days, they will be charged with committed crimes.
