Rosprirodnadzor asks to withdraw three licenses from Urals Energy

Deputy Head of Rosprirodnadzor Oleg Mitvol sent a request to Rosnedra about the recall of the Urals Energy licenses for the geological exploration of its three licensing plots in Timano-Pechora at her "daughter" Urals Nord LLC. We are talking about the Alfin, Nadezhdinsky and Beluginsky plots with total oil resources of about 29 million tons.

Urals Energy through their subsidiaries operates in the Irkutsk region, in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO) and on the shelf of Sakhalin, owning mainly exploration licenses. Its proven and probable reserves reach 116 million barrels of oil equivalent. About 39% of the company's shares are traded in London.

Rosprirodnadzor was guided by the data of an unscheduled inspection of Urals Energy activities in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It notes that the company does not comply with the terms and volumes of geological exploration on Beluginsky, Alfin, torch and Nadezhdinsky sections of the company, whose exploration licenses is owned by the Russian "daughter" Urals Energy Urals Nord LLC.

KM contains 10.78 million tons of oil adjacent to the Novo -Alfinsky Square - 6.7 million tons, Nadezhdinsky site - 7.17 million tons, and Beluginsky - 1.13 million tons of oil and 2.5 billion cubic meters. The current clash of the company with supervisory authorities is far from the first. On May 15, Rosprirodnadzor distributed a press release on the beginning of an unscheduled inspection of the activities of Urals Energy in the NAO and the Irkutsk region on the basis of "appeals of public environmental organizations."

The agency appealed to the facts of the negative impact of Urals Energy on bioresources in the area of ​​the island of Kolguev. In particular, the fact of the discharge of oil products in the Barents Sea was mentioned. After the distribution of this news, the company's shares on the London exchange lost 15% of the cost. Leonid Dyachenko, General Director of Urals Energy and the former son -in -law of the late President of Russia Boris Yeltsin, then announced the groundlessness of the accusations of Rosprirodnadzor.
