Who was awarded by Cannes?

Lately, the Cannes Film Festival has not been spoiling Russian directors, but the situation has developed that Russians were celebrated in Cannes primarily depending on their general attitude towards the country. The first Cannes Film Festival for Soviet winners was very successful, although the Palme d'Or did not yet exist. The only time a film from Russia took this most important and honorable prize happened in 1958, at the beginning of the “thaw”. Once again in 1990, on the wave of perestroika, again a bunch of awards, albeit secondary ones. But there were no “Silver Palm Branches” for acting on the Russian list yet (but there was another gold one - for animation).

1946 - “The Great Turning Point” by F. Ermler, “Man No. 217” by M. Roma.

1951 - "Mussorgsky" by Grigory Roshal - best design (artist Abram Veksler).

1954 - "The Great Warrior of Albania Skanderbeg" by Sergei Yutkevich - special mention.

1955 - prize for the best director Sergei Vasiliev for the film "Heroes of Shipka"; prize for the acting ensemble in the film “Big Family” by Joseph Kheifitz; Prize for the lyrical film "Romeo and Juliet" by L. Arnstam and L. Lavrovsky; special mention - short animated film "Golden Antelope", directed by L. Atamanov.

1956 - “Othello” by Sergei Yutkevich - for best production.

1957 - special prize for “The Forty-First Year” by Grigory Chukhrai.

1958 - Palme d'Or for the film The Cranes Are Flying by Mikhail Kalatozov.

1960 - prize for the best program, including “The Ballad of a Soldier” by Grigory Chukhrai and “The Lady with the Dog” by Joseph Kheifits.

1961 - prize for the best director - Yulia Solntseva for “The Tale of Fiery Years”.

1963 - special prize - “Optimistic Tragedy” by Samson Samsonov.

1966 - “Lenin in Poland” by Sergei Yutkevich - best director.

1969 - "Andrei Rublev" by Andrei Tarkovsky - FIPRESCI Prize.

1972 - “Solaris” by Andrei Tarkovsky - Grand Prix.

1979 - “Siberiada” by Andrei Konchalovsky - Grand Prix.

1981 - prize for best supporting actress for Elena Solovey in the film “Blood Type Zero”.

1983 - “Nostalgia” by Andrei Tarkovsky - Grand Prix and FIPRESCI Prize.

1986 - “Sacrifice” by Andrei Tarkovsky - Grand Prix, prize for artistic contribution and FIPRESCI prize.

1987 - “Repentance” by Tengiz Abuladze - Grand Prix and FIPRESCI Award.

Marcello Mastroianni was noted for his role in N. Mikhalkov’s film “Dark Eyes”.

1988 -- "Palme d'Or" for the cartoon "Freaks", directed by Harry Bardeen.

1990 - "Taxi Blues" by Pavel Lungin - prize for best director; Award for artistic contribution to Gleb Panfilov for the film “Mother” (“Forbidden People”); "Golden Camera" for "Freeze, die, die away" by Vitaly Kanevsky.

1992 - Jury Prize for “Independent Life” by Vitaly Kanevsky (together with Victor Erice for the film “The Sun in the Leaves of a Quince Tree” / “Dream of Light”).

1994 -- Grand Prix to Nikita Mikhalkov for “Burnt by the Sun” (together with Zhang Yimou for the film “To Live”).

1999 - Award to Yuri Arabov for the best script for the film “Moloch”.

2000 - “The Wedding” by Pavel Lungin - prize for best acting ensemble.

2001 - “Portrait” by Sergei Luchishin won in the Cinefondation program.

2005 - Nikolai Khomeriki, “Together”, - second place at the Cinefondation competition.
