Entrepreneur Roman Abramovich denied the information that he refused to finance the Chelsea football club. He stated this in an interview with "Echo of Moscow."

“This is complete nonsense,” said Abramovich. “Everything remains as before, my relationship with Chelsea does not change at all, and I'm not going to change them.”

The fact that Abramovich closed his wallet for Chelsea, wrote the British tabloid Sun. According to the newspaper, he announced at a closed meeting of the board of directors of the club that on now Chelsea should exist as an independent business and take care of their profitability. Abramovich supposedly remains the owner of the club, but does not intend to make sole key decisions anymore.
