The excitement of Lithuania

Lithuania is interested in the placement of missile systems on its territory following the example of Poland and the Czech Republic. According to ITAR-TASS, this was stated by the Minister of Defense of the country, Yuozas Olekas.

“Our systems are needed by our country,” the minister said. “There is a threat that in a few years in unstable countries there are technical capabilities for attacks. The world must restrain this process. One of the solutions is the anti -missile system proposed by NATO.”

Olekas does not agree that the installation of anti -missile systems in Europe is directed against Russia and is the first step towards the new Cold War. “They serve as a guarantor of stability in the region,” he emphasized.

At the moment, America is negotiating about the placement of Poland and the Czech Republic. The US State Department said earlier that these countries may not limit these countries. In particular, the possibility of placing anti -detourket systems in Slovakia is considered. Among the states cooperating with the USA PRO, Ukraine was also called. Its President Viktor Yushchenko denied this information, saying that there would be no American Pro on the territory of Ukraine.
