Such data were cited by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanov during an Internet conference published on the website of the Security Council.
“The number of computer crimes committed both in our country and abroad, as well as the damage from the implementation of these acts, continues to increase,” he admitted. “According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, an increase in the number of crimes committed using modern information technologies is annually. Over the past six years, the number of such crimes has increased almost 10 times.”
According to Ivanov, there is a high intensity of computer attacks precisely on critical important objects of Russia's infrastructure.
At the same time, the Secretary of the Council of People's Commissars did not exclude that the interests of other states or criminal groups can stand behind the actions of computer hackers. Therefore, he noted, a unified system of monitoring cybercrime is being created in the country.
