In St. Petersburg they turned into a new scandal. Petersburg architects accused Gazprom Neft of the dissemination of incorrect information, according to which the skyscraper project was approved by the Urban Planning Council, the Gzt.ru newspaper writes.

On Thursday, members of the Urban Planning Council of St. Petersburg and the Council for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage under the city government unveiled a statement in which they refuted a number of media reports on their approval of the Okhta Center project. Moreover, according to the document, "the majority of members of the city council at the meeting of the 400-meter tower spoke out on the construction of a meeting on June 21." By calling the source of the spread of false information, the press service of Gazprom Neft OJSC, members of the city council announced their intention to appeal to the company.

However, as the Gazeta CEO of the International Salvation Fund for St. Petersburg - Leningrad Alexander Margolis specified, the decision on this subject will be made on July 5. "If by this time the company officially does not officially refute the application for approval by the city council of the Okhta Center project, we will go to court," he said.

In turn, commenting on the statements of architects, a press secretary of Gazprom Neft OJSC Natalya Vyalkina said that the company is not going to refute the previously common information. "We have at our disposal an official document - an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the Town Planning Council of St. Petersburg. It refers to the decision to approve the main directions of the concept of urban planning development of the territory of Okhta and recognize it as possible to place in its composition of a high -altitude facility. The press release was prepared on the basis of this document, so there can be no questions for us," Vyalkina said.

It is assumed that the fate of the construction of the tower will have to solve the city referendum. His project was ready for the first reading and even found himself on the agenda of the meeting of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly on June 27, but the line has not yet reached it.
