“After all, no sane person will seriously talk about the safety of drug use, for example. At the same time, pornography and even erotica differ from heroin only in that heroin enslaves and destroys a person quickly, and erotica and even more pornography slowly lead a person, especially young, to gloomy dependence on the bodily bottom, despondency and impotence,” the priest said.

He admitted that the information of an erotic nature today is often “excessively represented in the media and occupies a disproportionately large place on the same television, including at a time when children and adolescents can have the screens.”

In many states, the agency’s interlocutor recalled, “the issue of the presence of erotic content in the public media is more or less successfully solved,” and their experience can be considered when discussing this problem in Russian society.

"Many Western countries came to the conclusion that the measure of the presence of erotica in the media should be under strict public control. In the same US, you will not find an erotic channel in the public domain. There is an understanding that such things harm the physical and moral health of the nation," the agency’s interlocutor noted.

As for the form itself, the definition of criteria and the degree of limiting erotic information in the media, this issue, the representative of the Moscow Patriarchate believes, “requires great study and broad public discussion,” and in his opinion, early -grown ill -conceived decisions.

"According to the same teaching of the foundations of religious culture in schools, such a discussion is not successfully and fruitfully conducted, almost all layers of society are involved in it. The experience of such a discussion could be adopted in this case," said Mikhail Prokopenko.

He also emphasized that the increased interest of a person in the products of the erotic industry usually indicates his personal problems and dysfunction - both family and sincere.

“A person who is wealthy and personal life does not need such a spectacle at all, he will not willingly grind his tongue on such topics, fill the space around himself with specific pictures and spend time watching“ strawberry ”television programs,” the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church believes.
