It was reported that the journalist also talked with his father. He apologized to relatives and colleagues for having to endure after his abduction.

Then Johnston went to Jerusalem with a motorcade, accompanied by British diplomats. The representative of the Consulate of Great Britain reported this, as the AR reports.

According to Reuters, the leader Hamas Khaled Mashal said that Johnston’s liberation indicates that Hamas managed to restore order in the gas sector. “We were able to close this question, which caused considerable damage to the image of our people,” he said.

One of the intermediaries participating in the negotiations on the liberation of Johnston said that the ransom for the journalist was not paid.

Alan Johnston was abducted by unknown persons on March 12. Subsequently, the responsibility for his abduction was taken by the previously known group "Army of Islam". Hamas repeatedly stated that the release of 45 -year -old Johnston - the only correspondent of the Western media who constantly lived in the Gaza sector - is one of the priority tasks.

Hamas representatives put forward an ultimatum to the abductors, saying that if Johnston is not released, then Hamas will make everything possible for this, including the use of strength.

After that, Johnston’s video message was placed on the Internet, on which he and the suicide bomb and the British authorities did not resort to a forceful solution to the conflict.
