In response to the war on crime declared in Ingushetia, the bandits unleashed their
Yesterday in Ingushetia, in the village of Ali-Yurt, a special operation to capture militants who last Friday fired grenade launchers at the FSB building in Magas ended. One soldier was killed in the attack. It is noteworthy that last week, immediately after the statement by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rashid Nurgaliev, that he was declaring war on the criminals and terror rampant in Ingushetia, the militants carried out two daring attacks at once - first they fired at one of the regiments of internal troops in Nazran, and then FSB building in Magas.
As the Vremya Novostei newspaper previously reported, a special operation to identify criminal elements in Ingushetia began last Wednesday . It coincided with the appointment of the new Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic, Musa Medov. The security forces officially announced that the reason for holding these events was the recent wave of attacks on the military, law enforcement officers and government officials across the republic. According to the unofficial version, this special operation is an attempt to add authority to the law enforcement agency, which does not enjoy the trust of ordinary citizens.
The war against crime in Ingushetia has not yet brought any results. Instead, the criminal elements themselves became more active and carried out two daring attacks on the republic’s security agencies at once. First, on Thursday night, unknown persons fired grenade launchers at the location of an internal troops regiment in Nazran. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but it was not possible to trace the criminals.
And last Friday the bandits attacked again. “Criminals using grenade launchers and machine guns from the forest area of the village of Ali-Yurt began to shoot at the building of the FSB of the republic in Magas. During the ensuing battle, which lasted about half an hour, a Russian serviceman was killed. When examining the place where the militants fired at the building, traces of blood were found. According to operational data, the criminals could have hidden in the village of Ali-Yurt,” the FSB press service reported.
Based on the incident, the prosecutor's office of the Nazran district of Ingushetia opened a criminal case under articles of the Criminal Code of “attack on the life of a military personnel” and “illegal acquisition, storage and carrying of firearms.” According to representatives of the republic's security forces, a counter-terrorism operation was carried out in the village of Ali-Yurt to identify members of gangs. “The village was completely blocked. The military carefully checked passports, inspected cars and residential buildings,” law enforcement officials said. As Ingushetia prosecutor Yuri Turygin explained, four people were detained during the operation. “Two suspects were caught during the shelling of the building, the other two during a counter-terrorism operation in the Ali-Yurt area. Now the necessary work is being carried out with them,” the prosecutor noted.
