Endeavour shuttle starts to ISS on August 8

The American spacecraft of reusable Endeavour with a crew of 7 astronauts starts on August 8 to the International Space Station (ISS). Such a decision was made on Monday at the Cosmodrome at Cape Kanveral (Florida) heads of the Space Shuttle program.

The start is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, August 8 - 18:36 Time of the east coast of the United States (02:36, August 9 to Moscow). Meteorologists give a 70 percent probability that the weather will not interfere with the start of the flight. Earlier it was planned that Endeavour will go to near -Earth orbit on August 7, but the detected air leak from the Cabbage Cabinet of the shuttle, made its own adjustments. Work on the replacement of the valve through which the leak took place, were successfully completed, however, the training schedule for the flight was still violated and an additional day was required.

According to the officials of NASA, the computer that is subject to delivery to the ISS and in respect of which the Sabotage act was committed - the wires were cut - it is repaired and flies to the ISS. The corresponding inspections did not reveal any other damage. The investigation of the circumstances of the incident continues, reports ITAR-TASS.

The crew of shuttle will have to spend 11 days in the near -Earth orbit and to carry out after joining from the ISS 3 exit to the outer space to continue the installation of the station. The flight can be extended for 3 days for additional access to space.

This will be the first flight of Endeavour over the past 5 years, during which it has undergone significant modernization. In general complexity, it will be the 22nd flight of shuttle to the ISS and the 119th flight as part of the Space Shuttle program.
