The mayor of San Francisco Gevin Nysse has been working on the Wi-Fi network project for several years, however, his implementation is postponed due to fears in the safety of personal data.

The deployment in San Francisco Wi-Fi will cost $ 14-17 million. The readiness to build the network was expressed by Earthlink Inc., which hopes to receive income at the expense of paid users. It is assumed that a paid network connection ($ 20 per month) will be 3-4 faster than free.

It is expected that the referendum will be held in November and will be advisory in nature.
