
The premiere of the new version of the famous American rock opera "Jesus Christ - Superstar" in the production of British director Stephen Rain will be held in September in Madrid. “This version of the musical tells that it can happen to such a person as Jesus, if he turns out to be in our time in the Middle East,” Raine said, noting that “there are many coincidences” between the period when the Messiah lived and the events that unfold these days in this region.
The English director also noted that despite the modern approach to setting, the storyline will “almost fully comply with the biblical story,” RIA Novosti reports.
The premiere of the famous rock operators performed by Spanish actors will be held at the Lope de Vega Madrid Theater on September 20. According to the organizers, the Dutch promotional company Stage Entertainment, more than 10 thousand tickets for all closest shows have already been sold.
