Kyrgyzstan is overrun by Russian and Chinese "spies"
Another spy scandal is breaking out in Kyrgyzstan . Yesterday it became known about the arrest of two officers who were charged under Article 292 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan - “high treason”. The Kyrgyz news agency 24.kg, citing sources in the prosecutor general's office of the republic, reported that one of those arrested, Alexander Grib, is an active employee of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). The second, Valery Patsula, according to 24.kg, is also a career security officer who worked for a long time in the Main Intelligence Directorate, and then in the counterintelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported that “the officer arrested by the special services for high treason was dismissed from our department a year ago due to age.”It is not reported which country the arrested officers worked for. The leadership of the State Committee for National Security refuses to give any comments for now, but promises that the agency’s press center will disseminate an official statement in the near future. According to Vremya Novostey's sources in Bishkek, the officers accused of espionage were arrested several weeks ago and, according to rumors spread among Kyrgyz security officers, they were convicted of transferring certain secret information to their Russian colleagues. However, as a high-ranking Kyrgyz official noted to Vremya Novosti, “secrets could have been given out, but not secrets.” However, there was no official confirmation of these information leaks; Bishkek was preparing for the SCO summit and espionage passions could spoil the atmosphere of communication between the presidents.
It is worth recalling that one of the loudest sensations of the SCO summit was Vladimir Putin’s announced readiness of Russia to provide Kyrgyzstan with “up to two billion dollars” if an appropriate economic feasibility study for possible projects is prepared in Bishkek.
The previous spies, then Chinese, were neutralized by the Kyrgyz national security exactly two months ago - on June 24. They turned out to be an employee of the press service of the Kyrgyz parliament, Zhyparkul Arykova, and a citizen of the People's Republic of China, both of whom are under investigation.
