There was a fire on the atomic submarine, which was disposed of in Severodvinsk, there were no injuries. This was reported to ITAR-TASS by the representative of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation in the Arkhangelsk region Elizaveta Tskyarev.
As Interfax was told in the press service of the Zvezdochka shipyard, where work was underway to cut the submarine corps under the factory number 713 of the Shark project, the insulation fire occurred at 4:36 Moscow time on an area of about 15 square meters. The fire was extinguished for 6 minutes. People and equipment were not injured. “The consequences of the incident were eliminated within half an hour,” said the representative of the press service.
"A fire on the atomic submarine did not pose a radiation danger, since earlier an active zone had already been unloaded from the Premier League," the press service said.
“Unfortunately, it is impossible to exclude such fires with the existing cutting technology, since the cutting of the case is carried out by a fire method, and it is unrealistic to completely clean its structures from combustible insulating materials in inaccessible places,” said the representative of the “stars”.
The heavy nuclear missile cruiser of the project 941 Shark (Typhoon), the factory number 713, is disposed of on a star with the Severodvinsky shipyard Sevmash at the US expense as part of the Russian-American threat reduction program. As a result, a block with reactor compartments will remain from the boat, which will be launched and transferred to a long -term storage point on the Kola Peninsula.
The Typhoons are designed in the Central Design Bureau of the Rubin Marine equipment (St. Petersburg). From 1977 to 1989, six such submarines-catamarans 175 and a width of 22.8 meters were built on Sevmash, with a displacement of up to 49 thousand tons. The crew of Typhoon is 170 people, 20 ballistic missiles are on its armament.
The nuclear engine 713 was commissioned in December 1985. In 2005, Sevmash completed the disposal of the first similar submarine, and the "star" begins to dispose of the third. In the combat system of the Northern Fleet there are two "typhoons" - "Arkhangelsk" and "Severstal". Another similar native of Dmitry Donskoy is modernized in Sevmash and is equipped with a new Bulava missile system.
