The President of Ukraine is unhappy with the course of preparation for Euro 2012
President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko believes that the executive branch did not begin at the proper level preparations for the conduct of the European Football Championship in Ukraine in 2012.
He stated this, opening a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on Tuesday in Kyiv.
“Organizationally the executive branch has not yet demonstrated to the public that it is serious about this project,” Interfax quoted Yushchenko.
Recall that recently Ukraine has created the National Agency for Organizing and holding the final part of the European Football Championship in 2012. The new department will begin work on January 1, 2008 as a central executive body, i.e. will have practically ministerial status. Its creation is an obligation of Ukraine to the Union of European Football Associations.
The country's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Tabachnik said that the country plans to attract about 18 billion dollars of investments to prepare for the European Championship and create about 3 million new jobs.
