This is a march for the preservation of St. Petersburg and against the “gas scraper”. Every day in the city, residents have problems with developers, with the police, with the authorities - it just seems that in St. Petersburg everything is quieter than in Moscow. In fact, there are a lot of hot spots in the city. True, they like to blame “provocateurs from Yabloko” for all this, but the authorities do not understand that no “provocateurs from Yabloko” are capable of forcing people to go out into the streets if everything suits them. We just help people defend their civic position, protect their rights - nothing more. There are many problems: infill development, green spaces, architectural monuments. The problem of “reclamation” of territories, etc. We want the people who are trying to save the city to be heard. Our main motto: the authorities will hear us only when they see us. We have now submitted an application for five thousand participants in the action; it is difficult to predict how many people will actually come.
For us, the main thing is the safety of people, so we were forced to agree to the route proposed to us. As for the participation of the NBP, it is a banned party (although I am sure that it is banned for political reasons), and their participation could provoke the authorities. We see that the reaction of the authorities is no longer political, but simply medical in nature, and in such a situation it is stupid to risk the health of the people who will come to the march. But, of course, no one can prohibit the “National Bolsheviks” themselves as private individuals from coming.
Yabloko has never hidden the fact that preventing the implementation of this monstrous project is part of our political program. Previously, the authorities planned to spend 60 billion rubles on this madness, now only 30. So we can say that all those who fought against the “gas scraper” saved the city 30 billion rubles. We demand that not a penny of money be given from the budget to this poor Gazprom company, and if they really need to stick their corn somewhere, then there are completely different places for this that do not spoil the historical center of St. Petersburg.
