The final installation of the Busher NPP will end no earlier than the fall of 2008, the expert of the nuclear industry, the head of the Board of Directors of the Atomprom resource company Andrei Cherkasenko, told Interfax .

Moreover, according to him, this is the “most optimistic forecast, provided that the“ atomstroy export ”will be able to order the necessary equipment for the station.”

"Russia is building a nuclear power plant - the most difficult object of civil construction. For starting the nuclear power plant, it is necessary to carry out a lot of serious work, and part of the equipment and fuel is still not delivered to the station, which is directly related to insufficient financing of Iran. In addition, it will take time to stabilize logistics, installation and adjustment of equipment," the expert added.

The contract for the completion of the construction of the first unit of the Busher NPP is abroad of Iran (UAEI) in January 1995 in Tehran in January 1995. Russia also pledged to put one VVER-1000 reactor, nuclear fuel for it and prepare Iranian specialists.

The total transaction was estimated at a billion dollars, and the cost of a contract for the supply of VVER-1000s amounted to $ 850 million. The general contractor of construction and installation works of the first power unit of the nuclear power plant was the Russian Joint -Stock Company Atomstroyxport.

In February 1998, Russia and Iran agreed that the Russian Federation will not only help in the construction of nuclear power plants, but will fully complete the construction of the station. Construction was supposed to be completed on July 8, 1999, but the deadlines for commissioning Busher NPP were postponed several times.

So, in February it became known about the problems with the payment under the contract from the Iranian side.
At the end of March, Atomstroyxport received the first payment for the construction of the Busher NPP from the moment of termination of financing.

At the end of April in Moscow, a protocol was signed in the negotiations, which determines the plan of measures for the near future - to ensure stable financing of the final stage of the construction of the Busher NPP.

At the end of July, Ivan Istomin, the head of the Russian company, subcontractor of the Busher NPP project, LLC Energoprogress, has already stated that the nuclear power plant would be able to mount no earlier than the fall of 2008.
