The ex-head of the President of Brazil sought a political exile for Boris Berezovsky

The former head of the Civil Administration of the President of Brazil, Jose Dirsuu, used his influence to provide a fugitive Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky Political asylum in the country, is said in a journalistic investigation conducted by the Brazilian magazine Vezha on the basis of the report of the Brazil federal police, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the publication, Dirsuu negotiated in the highest political circles of the country, acting in the interests of the Berezovsky and the investment group “Media Athlete Investments” (MSI), and practiced “various types of administrative pressure”.

At the same time, a retired official published a statement on his website, where he denies all the accusations. "My phone was listened to the sanctions of a federal judge, and no data indicating my connection with Boris Berezovsky was found," the former head of the presidential administration said.

In Brazil, Boris Berezovsky is suspected of fraud in financing the Corinthians football club from San Paulo. According to the investigation, the investment group Media athletes investment (MSI) created with his participation was engaged in illegal financial transactions and money laundering when financing the club.

In May 2006, Berezovsky was detained at the San Paulo International Airport. Within eight hours, he testified to the Prosecutors General of Silwiu Luis Martins and Rodrigig Di Grandis in connection with a possible involvement in financial fraud in the country. Then Berezovsky expressed interest in acquiring Varig from the trading of a bankrupt airline, and also declared a desire to invest a billion dollars in the development of Brazil's economy.

Berezovsky currently lives in the UK, where he received the status of a political refugee. Several criminal cases have been instituted against him in Russia, he was put on an international wanted list. The Russian authorities repeatedly sent UK requests for the extradition of a businessman, but did not receive a positive answer.
