On Monday, the Moscow District District Court, a process was opened over the agent of the Polish special services, Major of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Yureya, who is accused of selling secret information to Polish intelligence. The meeting is held closed, the press service of the court said. The assistant to the Main Military Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Ramil Shakurov is led by a group of state prosecutors.

According to the investigation, "a citizen of Russia, a soldier of one of the formations of the Moscow Military District, Major Yuren in 2005, was recruited by the Polish special services."

According to the information of the Russian counterintelligence bodies, in 2005-2006, Major Yurena, "acting from selfish motives - for monetary rewards - to the detriment of the external security of the Russian Federation, collected and transferred information about the deployment, subordination and weapons of a number of military units and formations of the Moscow Military District to the Polish special services."

Also, "on the instructions of the Foreign Special Service of Yuren, he took specific steps to penetrate the personnel apparatus of the FSB of Russia." According to the conclusion of the experts, the information transmitted to the representative of the foreign special services "is reliable and constitute the state secret," the press service of the court noted.

The criminal case against Yureni was instituted on March 6, 2007 by the Investigative Department of the FSB of the Russian Federation on the grounds of committing state treason in the form of espionage - NPECTION, provided for by Art. 275 of the Criminal Code, and on the same day it was detained.

During the preliminary investigation, Yuren found himself completely guilty of a treason charged to him. In August 2007, the criminal case was sent to the Moscow District Military Court.

Recall, on September 14, the Supreme Court of Belarus sentenced to deprivation of liberty for terms of 7 to 10 years of four citizens of the republic for espionage in favor of Poland. Vladimir Russian was found guilty under Articles 358 and 16 Part 4 (spying organization), Sergey Kornilyuk, Pavel Petkevich, Victor Bogdan under article 356 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (treason to the state). Russian was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Kornilyuk - to 7 years old, Petkevich - to 7 years old, Bogdan - to 9 years in prison with a sentence in a colony of reinforced regime.

The Military Collegium of the Supreme Court found all convicts guilty of intentional espionage, which caused damage to the external security and defense capabilities of Belarus.
