Melnichenko version: Yushchenko received from Kuchma a prime minister for printing money

Former state protection major Nikolai Melnichenko again threatened to transfer materials to the media that compromise the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and politics Yulia Tymoshenko. At the press conference, which Melnichenko held on Wednesday in Kiev, he demonstrated an excerpt from the audio recordings, which, Melnichenko claims, contains Kuchma’s conversation with the then head of the National Bank Viktor Yushchenko, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“If someone denies the presence of evidence, it will say that all this is invented, I will be forced to give facts. I have everything documented,” Melnichenko said. He repeated and supplemented the previously expressed accusations against Yushchenko that he agreed with the demand of Kuchma to conduct an additional monetary issue despite the fact that this threatened with a new turn of inflation.

Demonstrating the audio recording reporters, Melnichenko said that on August 25, 1999, a conversation was held between Kuchma and Yushchenko. Despite the poor quality of the recording, the journalists heard that a man with a voice similar to Yushchenko’s voice first respected the requests that sounded in a voice similar to Kuchma’s voice, but in the end replied: “I belong to you, I am yours.” According to Melnichenko, Kuchma, as a fee, Yushchenko for an additional issue, offered him the post of prime minister. Yushchenko was indeed appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine, who previously occupied the post of head of the National Bank.

Melnichenko also threatened that if Yushchenko tries to refute the authenticity of the recording, then it can be processed by cleansing from unnecessary noise, and transmitted to the media. Other notes confirming the facts of the corruption activities of the same Yushchenko, as well as the current Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, the politics of Yulia Tymoshenko, who also visited the premier post, and Melnichenko, saying.

The author of compromising evidence said that provocations are prepared against him, which are scheduled for September 28-29. This served as another reason for Melnichenko’s readiness to publish these records, he explained. Answering the question why he had not previously stated the corruption activities of Ukrainian politicians, Melnichenko said: "For a long time he hoped that Yushchenko, Tymoshenko, who were a little better than the criminal Kuchma, would use the historical chance that Ukraine provided them and they would work in the interests of Ukraine. Unfortunately, this did not happen."

Recall that in June, Melnichenko already threatened to publish audio recordings of conversations of high-ranking persons of the Ukrainian state, but said that he did not see in those records "something that could very much compromise Viktor Yushchenko." He added that "if Viktor Andreevich or society really wants us to really show the face, and Viktor Andreevich will not mind, then please, I can listen to this." Then Melnichenko said: "I think that we can do this not only with Yushchenko, but also with Viktor Fedorovich ( Yanukovych - approx. Newsru.com ), and with other politicians."

Nikolai Melnichenko gained fame when he accused the former President Leonid Kuchm, of which he served in the organization of the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze. Melnichenko built his accusations on audio recordings, which, he claimed, were made in the Kuchma’s office and on which he recorded the voice of the president, demanding to destroy the journalist. The Gongadze case has not yet been disclosed.
