Yushchenko is not against the return of Tymoshenko to the post of prime minister

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko said that he had nothing against the return of Yulia Tymoshenko to the post of prime minister, which she occupied after the victory of the Orange Revolution in February 2005.

"She can become a prime minister. But I want to note that this can happen only after consent is reached, primarily between the democratic majority and the opposition. It is obvious that this should be based on the transparency of the formation of the government and parliament," Yushchenko said in an interview with the French television channel France 24.

He visited France on Friday on an official visit, within the framework of which he met with the head of France Nicolas Sarkozy.

The Ukrainian leader also said that he was optimistic about the outcome of the parliamentary elections and the formation of parliament.

"For the first time in 16 years, Ukraine was able to hold democratic elections for the second time, which is evidence that Ukraine is a democratic country," Yushchenko believes.

According to him, as a result of the elections, she won, on the one hand - a democratic coalition. “On the other hand, with regard to the parliament, the Party of Regions won a third of the votes of voters, and it is quite obvious that, thanks to the dialogue between the democratic forces and the“ regions ”, one can achieve political stability in the country. The situation is that without dialogue, the work of the parliament is unreal,” the leader of Ukraine said.
