
The last tranche in the amount of 600 million rubles from the federal budget to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake in the city of Nevelsk entered the administration of the Sakhalin Region. And in total, two billion rubles were promised, RIA Novosti told Wednesday an employee of the information policy department of the regional administration.
"This is the third tranche from the total volume of federal funds allocated by the Government of the Russian Federation to eliminate the consequences of the destructive earthquake in Nevelsk. The first two from a total amount of 1.4 billion rubles from the federal budget entered the administration at the end of September," the department said.
According to him, this is a "budget loan, which will further be extinguished at the expense of additional funds that the federal government will allocate to us."
The received funds will be aimed at building housing for residents of Nevelsk and emergency recovery work.
A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in the south of Sakhalin on August 2. Its epicenter was located about 60 kilometers from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, in the area of the city of Nevelsk. During the earthquake, two people were killed, about 8 thousand were left without shelter.
