The “Human Rights in Russia” portal, which has been blocked for more than a week as a result of a hacker DDos attack, opened a “reserve server” at hro1.org on Monday night. Everyone is already accustomed to DDos attacks on opposition Internet projects: similar things happened with the sites of Echo of Moscow, Kommersant, and with the (now banned) NBP community on Livejournal. However, what has been happening for more than a week with the website HRO.org (Human Rights in Russia), the Russian Internet has probably never seen before. One of the largest human rights online resources has been unable to repel a DDoS attack by criminals since October 21 - all this time the site has been inaccessible to users. Technicians are confident that they are dealing with a highly sophisticated attack and are calling on the Internet community to consolidate. The creator and owner of the website HRO.org "Human Rights Network" thanks everyone who sent words of sympathy and support during difficult days. “We received a large number of letters and calls with offers of help. Both old friends and complete strangers contacted us,” the human rights activists said in a statement. As the Human Rights Network notes, during this time a lot of technical advice has been received, not only from Russia, but also from Canada, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Great Britain, Germany and other countries.
