For the first time in its history, the St. Petersburg Zenit became the Russian football champion, having won the day before the victory over Saturn in Ramensky near Moscow.
The consequences of the celebration of this victory were eliminated all night by employees of the St. Petersburg metro. “On Sunday at the Sportivnaya metro station (the Petrovsky’s closest to the stadium, where the solemn meeting of the team took place), the fans beat the lamps of lamps, broke the escalator, knocked out glasses in several train wagons, poured a beer and champagne platform,” a representative of the subway told RIA Novosti .
On the eve of the city, 97 fans were detained mainly for being intoxicated.
Currently, the unofficial celebration of victory in the city continues. Soon it will be replaced by official celebrations.
The governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko, who personally met the winners at Pulkovo Airport, said that a grandiose holiday will be arranged in honor of this significant event. "Our guys gave us a real holiday. Today, all the streets of the city were empty - everyone watched a decisive match, and when Zenit became a champion, the whole city - from a citizen to Kupchino - published a common cry of joy," she said.
After the team, the fans who were present in Ramensky at the match with Saturn are also returning to the city. In the area of the Moscow Station of the groups of fans, firecrackers explode and light fireworks, turning the flags, go to the roadway of Nevsky Prospekt. Driving drivers do not express their dissatisfaction with the fact that the fans interfere with the movement, but, on the contrary, welcome them to their cars.
