More than 40 Zenit fans were detained in Ramensky, the police managed to prevent a major clash at the end of football, said Major General Viktor Kryskin, Chief of Public Security of the Moscow Region, Chief of Public Security of the Main Directorate of the Moscow Region. According to him, all detainees are mainly young people who were intoxicated, RIA Novosti reports.

“At the end of the match, several hundred fans tried to run out to the football field and provoke a fight, but this attempt was suspended by police officers,” the general said. He noted that at the stadium in football there were more than 16 thousand fans, almost half of which were St. Petersburg fans.

About 4 thousand police officers and military personnel of the internal troops ensured security at the event. Now Zenit fans are accompanied by up to St. Petersburg.
