The Court of Appeal of the International Federation of Motorsport (FIA) rejected the appeal of the McLaren team. Thus, the results of the 2007 Formula 1 championship will not be revised, the championship title of Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) is confirmed.

McLaren filed a protest of the stewards of the last stage of the 2007 season “Grand Prix of Brazil”, who did not disqual three pilots whose cars aroused suspicion after the finish. During the mandatory postgradual audit, it turned out that in the tanks of Niko Rosberg ("Williams"), Robert Kubitsy and Nika Haydfeld (both BMW-Zauber), the fuel was flooded with the pi-stops, the temperature of which was below the ambient temperature by more than 10 degrees Celsius, which contradicts the regulations.

These riders finished in Brazil with the fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. After a long meeting, the stewards of the Brazilian Grand Prix decided not to punish them, citing possible inaccuracies when measuring the temperature.

The appeal of McLaren could lead to the fact that the results of the last stage could be changed, and this would affect the final position in the championship. If the FIA ​​court disqualified at least two pilots from the above trio, Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), who took seventh place in Brazil, would have risen to two lines in the classification of the race. In this case, he would increase his personal account to 111 points, which would allow the British to go around Raikkonen in the personal standings and become the youngest world champion in the history of F-1, EUROSPORT recalls.

Kimi Raikkonen completed the championship with 110 points, Lewis Hamilton and his now former partner Fernando Alonso - with 109 points.
