The assistant Patarkatsishvili is beaten in Tbilisi

A member of the initiative for support in the early elections of the President of Georgia, businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili, parliament deputy Merb Khursidze was beaten by unknown. Five people attacked him at his house in Tbilisi on Monday evening, Interfax reports.

Hurcidze was taken to a hospital, where after the provision of medical care he told reporters that the attack was carried out for political reasons, since there was no robbery.

"I think this attack was due to the fact that I became a member of the initiative group on the election campaign of Badri Patarkatsishvili," he said.

As reported, on Monday, the initiative group introduced the application of Patarkatsishvili to the CEC of Georgia to participate in the upcoming early presidential elections on January 5, 2008.
