The main task of the opposition today is to nominate a single candidate for the presidency of the Russian Federation, says one of the leaders of the Union of Rightist Forces, Boris Nemtsov. “The three of us - Garry Kasparov, Vladimir Ryzhkov and I - have already begun negotiations on this matter. I believe that Mikhail Kasyanov, Grigory Yavlinsky and Vladimir Bukovsky can and should also take part in them,” Nemtsov said

. The proposed plan for negotiations is as follows: “Each of these six politicians can collect the required two million signatures of citizens in support of their candidacy in the presidential elections, but we must all undertake to become proxies of the one who will be registered as a presidential candidate,” Nemtsov explained . He noted that if more than one candidate from the right is registered, then the rest must make their own choice for which of them they will work as proxies. “At the same time, we must have a single basic program and consist of two fundamental postulates: we will return political rights to citizens and stop corruption.”
