"Sovcomflot" became the owner of the Novoship State Pacete

OJSC Modern Commercial Fleet became the owner of the State -Russian Marine Shipping Company State Package, Interfax said.

The share of the state in Novoship (50.34% of the authorized capital, 67.13% of ordinary shares) is submitted to the authorized capital of the “Superflieut” during the domain in favor of the Russian Federation by 44% of the current authorized capital. The Novoship State Packet was estimated for a transaction with the “Sovcomflot” of 20.6 billion rubles, “Sovcomflot” - 46.776 billion rubles.

The initiative of the unification of the two companies belonged to the leadership of the "Sovcomflot". "Novoship" will remain as a company with its brand.

The cost of a united company, according to Socomplot, will be $ 3.5-3.7 billion, which will allow it to take third place in the world after Frontline LTD (6.5 billion) and TEEKAY (5.8 billion).

The main shareholders of Novoship are the Federal Property Management Agency (50.34% of the authorized capital, 67.13% of ordinary shares), Novoshipinvest OJSC (4.17% and 5.56%), Intrigue Shipping (20.1% and 17.65%).

The decision to create a powerful shipping holding was made in June 2007, when the president signed a decree on the merger of two shipping facilities. RIA "News" recalls that the main lobbyist of the merger was the Ministry of Transport. The former head of the department, Sergei Frank, was elected by the General Director of the Obklot on a government recommendation.

The management team "Novoship", which opposed the merger, was removed, and the new leadership immediately agreed to the deal.

According to the presidential decree, 50.34% of the shares of Novoship, owned by the state, will be transferred to the "Comflot", which is 100% state -owned. Both steamboats will retain their legal independence, but will continue to act together, delimiting the spheres of influence and working on joint projects, such as the construction of Arctic shuttle tankers. The first such "shuttle" has already been laid down on the "Admiralty shipyards" in St. Petersburg.

The total fleet of the new company will be 113 ships. And in the portfolio of orders for the next three years - another 32, mostly tankers, as well as several modern ice class gas carriers. One of the main tasks of this armada in the coming decades will be the transportation of hydrocarbon raw materials from the Arctic shelf.
