The Ukrainian Security Service promised to provide final conclusions in eight days.

“If on December 11, Tymoshenko’s chances of becoming prime minister were estimated at 70 to 30, now they are 50 to 50,” Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Ermolaev told Vremya Novostei. “During these days, the emotional background within the coalition has changed.” The president and his associates were convinced that the forecasts about the instability of the “orange” coalition, which outweighs the opposition by only a few votes, were correct. “This makes parliamentary decisions dependent on random factors - equipment failure or illness of one or two deputies,” the expert notes. If Tymoshenko fails again, she will most likely become the leader of the coalition, agreeing with the appointment of a “technical” prime minister, VN’s interlocutor believes.
The head of the Ukrainian center “Penta” Vladimir Fesenko, in a conversation with VN, suggested that the Party of Regions “will continue the tactics of delaying time until the next five-day term of the presidential proposal for the election of Tymoshenko as prime minister in parliament is completed.” The coalition can “push” Tymoshenko through the Rada by changing the voting procedure for this purpose. However, this step will raise obvious legal contradictions. If the Rada regulations allow one-time use of another voting procedure, then the law on the Cabinet of Ministers prescribes the election of the prime minister only through the Rada electronic system.
