The presidential candidate from the United opposition of Georgia Levan Gachechiladze intends to declare a hunger strike in protest against violations during the election campaign. As RIA Novosti reports, he will begin a hunger strike if the authorities do not fulfill two opposition requirements.
The opposition requires it to provide it with a direct television and appoint a second round of the presidential election.
Speaking at an impromptu rally, Gachechiladze once again noted that the results of the voting of votes are falsified, and he won the victory in the presidential election.
At a rally of the United opposition, about 100 people attended the television company who demanded a direct broadcast of public television for their leader.
On Tuesday, Gachechiladze with other leaders of the opposition coalition broke into the CEC building and the office of the chairman of Levan Tarkhnishvili. They accused him of subsidizing the results of the counting and noted that according to them, in the election, not Saakashvili, but Gachechiladze won the election. The presidential candidate from the opposition demanded that Tarkhnishvili immediately resign.
The head of the CEC regarded the actions of the opposition as a pressure on the commission and an attempt to intimidate it. In turn, Tarkhnishvili called on the opposition in the case of violations of documents to submit them for discussion in accordance with existing procedures.
According to the latest data counting, Saakashvili (52.1 percent) leads in the elections. Gachechitze has 24.9 percent of votes.
