Well, Ukraine began preparations for the repayment of the debts of the former Sberbank of the USSR to individuals. The country's authorities promise that the population will receive compensation for burnt deposits for two years, Echo of Moscow reports.

From Tuesday in Ukraine, they begin to create a register of citizens whose deposits were burned in Sberbank of the USSR until January 1992. To get into this list, it is necessary to come to the department of the State Oschadbank, the heir to the Ukrainian Sberbank, with a passport and the Soviet savings.

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko promised that already in 2008 60 percent of the debt would be repaid, the rest - in 2009. The government plans to pay off the population not only with money, but also to write off municipal debts, the issuance of shares or the provision of land plots.

In Russia, citizens tried to sue the state compensation for burnt deposits. The lawsuit was filed by several activists of the United Civil Front.
