In support of the candidate of the leader of the Russian People's Democratic Union Mikhail Kasyanov, 1.7 million signatures were collected to the presidency of Russia. This was reported on Tuesday by Kasyanov’s press service with reference to his election headquarters.

In total, the headquarters plan to collect 2.4 million signatures, of which 2.1 million will be selected and handed over to the CEC.

As noted in the headquarters, the main difficulty faced with signatures collided - many citizens of the country do not know that the presidential election will be held on March 2. Publishors have to perform the functions of state bodies, informing citizens that elections will be held on March 2 and who participates in them.

Another self -nominated person - Andrei Bogdanov - said on Tuesday that he had successfully completed the collection of signatures. Their number "exceeded two million," he said on the air of "Echo of Moscow". "We are cleaning the tails in the regions and are engaged in design," Bogdanov said.

According to the leader of the Democratic Party, he intends to transfer the collected signatures to the CEC on January 16. “We are all double -checked so that there are no mistakes with notaries,” Bogdanov noted, adding that “large cities, where more democratically tuned citizens live in the process of collecting signatures”.

For registration as a candidate, it is necessary to submit at least two million certified signatures to the CEC until January 16.

More applicants for the post of head of state - Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Gennady Zyuganov and Dmitry Medvedev - do not need to collect signatures, since their candidates were nominated by parliamentary parties.
