The Central Bank's accounts arrested at the NOGA claim are defrosting

One of the accounts of the Central Bank, arrested at the request of NOGA is unlocked. The account of the Central Bank, which was seized, will be defrosted in the very near future, several news agencies said at once with reference to a kind of informed source. There is a chance that the situation will be resolved in the same way with other accounts arrested at the request of NOGA, which has long -standing financial claims against Russia.

As the source noted, orders of bailiffs, due to which accounts were blocked, contradict French law. In 2005, the France parliament adopted a separate law prohibiting the arrest on the funds of foreign central banks located in France. In addition, the Central Bank is legally independent, and cannot meet the debts of the government. And the claims of the NOGA company are addressed precisely by the Russian government, from which it requires the payment of $ 70 million on account of debts formed in the early 90s.

The news agency RIA Novosti intends to solve the issue in the same way. In the coming days, a lawsuit will be filed in which the agency will indicate that it is an independent legal entity and the government’s debts have no relation to it.

Recall, on January 2, 2008, the bank accounts of a number of Russian organizations in the French bank VTB France, which are a subsidiary of the Russian VTB Bank, including the accounts of the Parisian Bureau of RIA Novosti, were frozen at NOGA.
