Long before the ceremony, RFB experts identified three candidates in each of the 11 nominations, after which representatives of clubs on the Internet voted for the most worthy candidates. As a result, the best players in Russia were named the triumphs of European championships, striker Andrei Kirilenko (performed at the Utah Jazz NBA club) and Center Maria Stepanova (metropolitan CSKA). The strongest legionnaires of the Super Leagues are recognized by the Greek Theodora Papalukas (CSKA) and the American Diane Taurazi (Spartak near Moscow). The best young players were representatives of the same two clubs - Armenian Andrei Vorontsevich and Spartakovka from the city Vidnoy Natalya Viera. The best club coach of the Super League is the mentor of the “red-blue” Italian Ettore Messin. Of the Russians working with men's teams, the prize was awarded to Stanislav Eremin (Lyubertsy “Triumph”), with the female - “steering” by the national team Igor Grudin.
According to the voters, the best management is with the male team of the country (general manager-Olympic champion Seoul-1988 Sergey Tarakanov), and the most professionally illuminating basketball media is the Sports TV channel. A special award for the contribution to the development of sport in the country was posthumously awarded the mentor of the “golden” Olympic male national team of the USSR of the 1972 model Vladimir Petrovich Kondrashin. Chernov, who received an absolute credit of the trust of delegates, headed the federation for a five -year term, that is, until the spring of 2013.

Work in this direction and in terms of popularization of basketball over the past five years has really been done enormous. The women's team must hold their leadership positions and seek the right to play in the finals of the Olympiads, the world and European championships. In men's basketball, general competition is higher, so here the team is expected to fight for prizes.
Vice-President of the RFB, its executive director Andrei Shirokov, chief of CSKA Sergey Kushchenko, chairman of the Control and Audit Chamber of Moscow, President of the ISB Viktor Dvurechensky were selected.
