Sergei Ivanov held negotiations with the pentagon chief in Munich - they did without a translator

The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov held negotiations one on one with the US Minister of Defense Robert Gates.

Ivanov and Gates are participating in the Munich Security Conference and came to the meeting immediately after speaking at the forum of the General Director Magate Muhammad El Baradei.

“Al-Baradei was very interesting,” said the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Gates agreed with him, recalling that the head of the Magate mentioned the need for disarmament for nuclear powers and their responsibility in the world. “We are responsible for everything, as always,” the American minister laughed.

In the presence of journalists, Ivanov and Gates exchanged only a couple of phrases. They talked in English and did not use the help of a translator, RIA Novosti reports.
