
Ex-head of the Ministry of Transport of Ukraine Nikolai Rudkovsky was taken under arrest. This decision was made on Monday by the Pechersky District Court of Kiev, reports Newsru.ua . As noted in a court decision, it was taken into account that Rudkovsky, being previously under the subscription of the lower room, did not fulfill his obligations, is accused of committing a serious crime and does not live at the place of registration, therefore, "there is reason to apply a more stringent measure of restraint - captivity," UNIAN reports.
The Kyiv prosecutor's office explained that although Chernigov was elected a subscription about the no to leave the place of stay, the accused left the city more than once, not informing the investigation about this, and was not to familiarize himself with the case materials. Also, the decision was motivated by the fact that the ex-minister, being free, can hide and prevent the investigation in establishing truth.
Recall that in early December, the Security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal case against Nikolai Rudkovsky. He was accused of embezzlement of state funds on an especially large scale, for which a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property is provided.
Rudkovsky himself stated that the initiation of a criminal case against him is the revenge of the president’s secretariat for the fundamental position and efficiency of work.
