By the end of 2008, Mininformslavs plans to develop the concept of the “Communication in every house” program. As part of the program, it is planned to provide Internet access for all households in Russia. This is written on Wednesday by the newspaper "RBC Daily" .
First of all, the program is focused on those regions where there is no infrastructure for Internet access. The program is the second stage in the development of the project to provide universal communication services (UUS). The UUS program implies the telephone of all settlements of Russia until 2008 by operators who won the relevant competitions.
The choice of Internet suppliers in the regions will be determined as a result of competitions. The winner will be obliged to connect households to the Internet within 6 months. At the same time, the mininformslavli expects to legislatively provide access to the network of the winning operator to other providers. Access speed is planned to be limited at 64-128 kbps, and tariffs will be set by the state.
