Bread prices sharply took off in Vladivostok

Vlahleb, which provides more than 80% of the needs of residents of Vladivostok in bread, increased prices for about 25%, despite the agreement with the administration of the Primorsky Territory on their freezing, RIA Novosti reports.

On Friday, prices rose in all the branded stores "Vlahleba", and on Saturday, all stores with partnerships with this enterprise have already switched for new prices. Previously, the bunch of the most chassis in Vladivostok “Podolsky” cost 19 - 20 rubles, now - 25. Other loaves, buns, Saiki also rose 7-8 rubles.

Other manufacturers who supply bread to Vladivostok while holding their previous prices.

The representative of the Directorate of OJSC "Vlahleb", referring to the words of the head of the enterprise Valery Sinyukhin, said that the rise in prices is "the measure is compelled and dictated by the current situation." According to him, in Primorye, starting in the fall of last year, on average by 25-30%, fuel rose, transport tariffs rose, and flour prices increased by 20%.

“For these reasons, the production of many varieties of bread became economically unprofitable for the company. The company's management was forced to go to the measures unpopular for buyers and raise the prices of running bread for buyers,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.

Last fall, the administration of the Primorsky Territory entered into an agreement with leading local manufacturers and network companies on freezing food prices. Signed this agreement and the leadership of OJSC "Vlahleb".

The representative of the Food Industry Department of the Regional Administration in an interview with RIA Novosti said that the authorities could not interfere in the pricing policy of private companies. “The price policy is now determined not by the power, but by the mechanism of market relations,” he said concisely.

Fuel prices, transport services and wheat over the past three months have risen in other southern regions of the Far East of Russia: in the Amur and Jewish Autonomous Regions, the Khabarovsk Territory. However, bread prices in these regions have remained the same for a long time.

Regional budgets provide bakeries of the Amur region and the Khabarovsk Territory financial support, compensating for part of the costs of electricity, transport, and wholesale purchases of grain. The bakers of the Primorye do not have such support of the authorities.
