FHR is ready to transfer the rights to hold the Russian Championship New League

The press service of the Russian Hockey Federation on Monday published a statement stating that the media reports about the FCR refusal to transfer the ORHL right to hold the Russian Championship are not true.

The FCR recalls that at the meeting of the Orchl Organizing Committee on behalf of the Russian Organizing Committee on behalf of the Russian Hockey Organization, the issue of compliance with the terms of the agreement between the Federation and the Organizing Committee of 06.02.2008 was raised.

In particular, under the terms of this agreement, by March 14, 2008, the developers of the ORHL project were supposed to submit to the FCR a draft agreement on the transfer of rights to hold the Russian Championship from the FCH to the ORHL, as well as the draft regulations of the new international competition with the status of the open championship of Russia. Such documents have not yet been received in the FCH. In this regard, the Russian Hockey Federation officially states that only the winner of the Russian championship can be the champion of Russia.

The national hockey championship has been held in our country for several decades and has deep traditions, the Federation notes. Russian championships are held in the Russian Federation in the vast majority of sports. In accordance with its charter, the Federal Law "On Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation" and the Charter of the International Hockey Federation, the FCH is obliged to ensure the holding of the national championship either independently, or by transferring the rights to conduct another non -profit organization. It was on such the development of events that the federation and the organizing committee agreed in the agreement of 06.02.2008.

In accordance with this agreement, the FCR is ready to consider the issue of transferring rights to hold the Open Russian ORHL championship, provided that the ORHL is ready to hold this tournament. However, judging by the documents submitted at the meeting on March 15, the ORHL did not make a decision to hold the open championship of Russia.
