The leader of the famous rock band "Civil Defense" Yegor Letov died of acute respiratory failure that developed from alcohol poisoning, the senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee at the Omsk Region Prosecutor's Office of the Omsk Region told RIA Novosti .

As previously reported, Yegor Letov died in his apartment in Omsk on February 19, 2008 at the 44th year of life.

Igor Fedorovich (Egor) Letov was born in 1964 in Omsk. He began musical activities in the early 1980s, creating a rock band "Sowing" together with like-minded people, and later the Rock Group "Civil Defense".

In 1987-1989, the group recorded a number of albums (“Red Album”, “Good!”, “Mousline”, “Totalitarianism”, “So tempered steel”, “Everything is going according to plan”, “War”, “Armageddon pops”, “Russian field of experiments” and others).

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Civil Defense became widely known in the country, mainly among young people.

In 2004-2005, two new albums of the group “Long Happy Life” and “Resuscitation” were released.

The last album of Civil Defense "Why Dream Dreams" was represented on May 26, 2007 in the capital's club B1 Maximum.

Yegor Letov was buried on February 21 at the old-eastern cemetery in Omsk.
