Two game days before the end of the regular season, the full composition of the playoff participants became clear. Thanks to Golden State's defeat and its own victory, Denver received the eighth spot in the West. “Milwaukee” and “Chicago” gave a fabulous match. Already in the first quarter, the teams scored 84 points between them - 45:39. As a result, the Chicagoans fell only five points short of the club's scoring record, set on March 16, 1984 in a game with Portland. Milwaukee lost its seventh straight game, allowing the Bulls to shoot 67% from the field (63/94). For the hosts, it was the worst defensive performance in the history of the club, but the visitors fell just short of their team record, dated December 2, 1981, when Chicago showed 70.4% shooting efficiency against Golden State. Milwaukee rookie Ramon Sessions had 24 assists, the most in franchise history. In addition, Sessions became the only basketball player in the entire history of Milwaukee who scored at least two dozen points and made as many assists in one match.
After the Denver-Houston match that took place the day before, Nuggets leader Carmelo Anthony was detained by police for driving while intoxicated. A trial for this incident is scheduled for mid-May.
Tennis prodigy's first victory
An extraordinary event occurred at the ATP tournament in Houston (USA). The holder of the wild card to participate in the qualifying matches, 15-year-old American Ryan Harrison, successfully passed the qualifying barrier and achieved his first career victory in the main draw of competitions of this level. The Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas became the victim of the prodigy - 6:4, 6:3.
The Statistics Department of the Association of Tennis Professionals has been maintaining accurate statistics based on the age of players since 1990. Harrison now ranks third on the list of the youngest big-racket masters to win their first ATP tournament victory. Ryan won the fight at 15 years, 11 months and seven days. Spaniard Rafael Nadal succeeded in 2002 when he was 12 days younger, and Frenchman Richard Gasquet won this same season when he was 41 days younger than Harrison's current age. In total, during the Open era (that is, since 1968, after equalization of rights between professionals and amateurs), only ten players managed to win a main draw match of an ATP tournament before reaching their 16th birthday.
