Three years ago, I suggested that each actor in our troupe find a real prototype in Latvian life. All this resulted in a very broad cross-section of our society. Even the Latvian language, which the actors use, is represented in eight dialects,” said director Alvis Hermanis. The tours are held as part of the Season of Latvian Culture in Russia. Tour organizer: NET Festival (New European Theatre). New Riga Theater on the stage of the Meyerhold Center , 20.00.
EXHIBITIONS
Andreas Gursky. Opened with the support of Beeline as part of the Moscow Photobiennale, the exhibition of the famous German photographer Andreas Gursky is one of the most significant events of the photo festival. His photographs delight in both the perfectionism of their execution and their inability to fit into everyday visual experience. Thanks to the methods of the latest digital technologies developed by Gursky at the famous Dusseldorf Academy, panels with a landscape or floors of office towers are mounted from different spatial valve cells. And the gaze glides over the surface of the photo without penetrating deeper. He literally touches the surface of things, forms, objects. The eye is perplexed, at the same time in admiration for such excessive generosity towards him. Cultural Foundation "Ekaterina" , until May 19.
Otar Ioseliani. “The basis for the exhibition in the Nashchokin House will become the storyboards of my films. I have quite a lot of them in my archive. These are drawings from different years. They will be exhibiting for the first time! Plus, we prepared photographs of working moments and found old movie posters. I would like this exhibition to tell about how cinema is made, from what a film is born. I’m glad to invite everyone who is interested,” said the director. Nashchokin House , until May 11.
