Beyond morality

It's done. Our morals are in safe hands. Soon a Commission on Morality will be created, which will save us from the pernicious influence of the West, and from the propaganda of violence in the media, help create a positive image of a working man, law enforcement and special services, and promote military duty. The initiator of the creation of this long overdue Commission is the President of St. Petersburg State University, Lyudmila Verbitskaya.

Let us imagine how such a Commission began to work in a city that can be conditionally called Foolov City...

Control over the moral state of society is entrusted to the most spiritually gifted people of the city. A mansion arose in the center, housing the 720 members of the Commission, their secretaries, assistant secretaries, and deputy assistant secretaries. On the door of the main office is a sign: “Guardian of Morality. Reception on Wednesdays from 11 to 18. Art immediately underwent a radical change. In the film competition, which carries the light of spirituality, the film about three heroes won: a secret service worker (Alyosha Popovich), a simple worker (Dobrynya Nikitich) and an honest policeman (Ilya Muromets). Films where good did not triumph over evil were marked "Harmful at any age."

The release of Dostoevsky's books with his demons and crimes was temporarily stopped. The members of the Commission began to rewrite the works of Fyodor Mikhailovich: Raskolnikov does not kill the old woman, but falls on his knees before her, shedding tears of repentance for his sinful plan. The novel is now 20 pages long, but the reader does not have to wait long for this robber to realize what a harmful idea he was preaching. The reforms immediately ran into opposition: the morality of the Commission, which is supposed to look after morality, aroused suspicion, and a Supervisory Committee was created to closely monitor the Commission. Of course, everyone understands morality in their own way. The war between the Committee and the Commission led to a radical revision of morality: society risked being on the other side of good and evil. Then the need arose for the emergence of a third structure that would coordinate the interaction of these two institutions. The control system for the arts and the media began to cost more than the production of plays, films, newspapers and television shows.

When the Minister of Finance refused to allocate money for the grandiose project "To every citizen - according to spiritual value!" (holding mass highly moral festivities, symbolic burning of soulless media, handing out baseball caps with the inscription “If you want to become more spiritual, ask me how”), he began to have problems. The Minister was branded in the newspaper "Herald of Spirituality" as an immoral type, whose personal qualities and personal accounts need immediate verification. He was removed from his position, and his successor financed the project in full.

The books published by the members of the Committee and the Commission ("The lack of spirituality of the West as the reason for its prosperity"; "We are not slaves: part 7, with additions and comments"; sour cream - get a directive on how to become spiritually richer. The imposition of moral values ​​was paradoxically combined with the deprivation of material values ​​from the wealthy part of the population. The Guardian of Morality said in an interview that these two processes are so interconnected that it is even ridiculous for him to comment on this topic.

The population was inevitably morally enriched - at least they were informed about it daily by the media. Cultural workers, starting to rehearse performances and concerts, to write books, sang the anthem of the Russian Federation in chorus. Media workers felt such a surge of patriotism that many of them, without hesitation, joined the Commission on Morality. Work has just begun...
