EXHIBITIONS
Luis Muñoz. "Station 05". Luis Muñoz was born and raised in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The idea of becoming an artist was suggested to him by his father, a professional sailor and amateur watercolorist. At the age of 14, Luis Muñoz entered the Academy of Arts of Santo Domingo, and in the 1980s he began to study sculpture and contemporary art at the Madrid School of Fine Arts. Muñoz has always respected the classics of the 20th century: in his youth he was fond of the works of Picasso and Dali, and later he became closer to the masters of abstraction - Paul Klee, Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. Luis Muñoz is an apologist for non-objective art, in which the aesthetic properties of the pictorial surface itself are more important than the plot. In his work, Muñoz follows the tradition of American abstract artists of the 1950s and 1960s, such as Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock or Mark Rothko. Moscow Museum of Modern Art , until June 1.
Otar Ioseliani. “The basis for the exhibition in the Nashchokin House will become the storyboards of my films. I have quite a lot of them in my archive. These are drawings from different years. They will be exhibiting for the first time! Plus, we prepared photographs of working moments and found old movie posters. I would like this exhibition to tell about how cinema is made, from what a film is born. I’m glad to invite everyone who is interested,” said the director. Nashchokin House , until May 11.
