Petersburg businessmen proposed an original way of unloading the historical center of the city from road transport. They are ready to ride the subway. For this, entrepreneurs are ready to pay for the manufacture and purchase of increased comfort wagons that would cling to each composition of the subway, and pay for travel from 100 to 150 euros per month. They propose to make travel for pensioners and disabled people free due to profits from their special cars, they write "New Izvestia" .
The idea of "special meter" for the VIP person was discussed at one of the latest business conferences in Smolny. A car of increased comfort will differ in more convenient seats and the presence of mini-bars, where a business person could have breakfast. The entrance to the VIP Vagon is assumed from the common platform, but through special turnstiles, set up for special monthly magnetic smart cards worth from 100 to 150 euros. Note that entrepreneurs not only voiced this idea, but also developed an investment project for its implementation.
According to the press secretary of the St. Petersburg metro Julia Shevel, the head of the city subway Vladimir Garyugin really received this project. “However, unfortunately, it is impossible to technically implement it today,” she explained. “Firstly, we cannot provide the VIP-person with separate escalators, and it is unrealistic to break through some“ speciallifts ”on top: it would be necessary to destroy some monuments of the architecture of the historical center of the city, which no one will do it. Secondly, the head of the subway has already stated that the St. Petersburg metro was always intended for the Petersburg metro Nobody is going to change the mass population and its social function. "
Meanwhile, according to the head of the strategic marketing department of the holding, the initiator of the project, Igor Mostsiev, the idea of the "metro for the elite" is not absurd at all. "In the Arab Emirates, as you know, there are plans for the construction of the metro, in which special cars in the trains for especially wealthy people and the business elite are already provided in advance," he says. "We are ready to purchase 250 wagons, to equip special platforms with turnstiles."
According to Mosksiev, the project was developed on the basis of layouts of specialists of the research and project institute of territorial development of transport infrastructure (NIPI TRT), whose developments are usually implemented. For example, in early May 2008, residents of St. Petersburg were notified of the upcoming introduction of the "zone" payment of travel in the St. Petersburg metro, recommended by the scientists of this institute.
