In the city of Mosul in the north of Iraq, 78 al-Qaeda militants and 119 “suspicious” persons were arrested. This was reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to the representative of the military command of the province of Nainav, reporting on the results of the continuing third day of the anti-terrorist operation.

The Iraqi authorities in the morning abolished the ban on moving around the city of pedestrians that operated from last Friday, but with regard to vehicles, the ban remains in force. "The commandant hour will be canceled gradually, as the situation improves," the military command said in a statement.

The operation, under the code name "Lev's roar", undertaken with the purposes of the liquidation of the al-Qaeda network in Mosul, began on Saturday. It is conducted by Iraqi military personnel and police with the support of US troops.
