The first -see Minister of Defense was born

Spanish Minister of Defense Karme Chakon gave birth to her first -born on Monday - a boy called Mikel, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the National Radio of Spain (NRI).

The 37-year-old Chacon, who in December 2007 entered into marriage, became the first woman-minister of defense in the history of Spain. In her own words, she is a "convinced pacifist."

"The minister gave birth to a boy weighing 2.8 kilograms in the maternity ward of the Clinic of the Clinic of Sant-Joan de deu in her hometown of Espluges de Lobregate (Barcelona province)," the radio noted.

According to him, the minister named her son in honor of her husband Miguel Barroso, a former press secretary of the Prime Minister of Spain. However, the boy will be called the Catalan manner not Miguel, but Mikel.

According to the radio, the minister went on Monday morning for another inspection at the clinic, accompanied by sister and mother. Doctors found that childbirth could occur in a few hours and left the patient in the clinic. The Ministry of Defense sent a corresponding message to the country's parliament, where the minister was supposed to make a report on the military policy of Spain in the coming years.
