American contingent in Iraq can be reduced again

The commander of the US troops in Iraq, General David Petreus said that until September, it was highly likely to recommend a further reduction in the number of American contingent in this country.

General Petraus said this at a meeting of the US Senate Armed Forces Committee. It is expected that senators will approve his appointment by the head of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces in the Middle East.

Now in Iraq is about 155 thousand American military. By mid -July, the US contingent will be reduced by 15 thousand people.
